Do Live Clean® products contain phthalates? Why should I avoid phthalates?expand faq
No, Live Clean® products do not contain phthalates. These are synthetic fragrance compounds that are used to make the scent last longer in personal care products or to dissolve other chemicals, or even in some cases (like nail polish) to provide a hardened plastic coating. There are some studies that suggest that phthalates are not safe. Live Clean® requests all fragrance submissions eliminate use of phthalates for any of these reasons.

No, Live Clean® products do not contain parabens. We are committed to providing safe and effective products that are better for you, your little one, and the environment; this means never including parabens in our products. Do Live Clean® products contain SLS? Why should I avoid SLS in my personal care products?expand faq
No, Live Clean® products do not contain SLS. We believe in all the good, without the rest and with this philosophy in mind, we never include SLS in our products. SLS refers to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate. These are high foaming surfactants derived from petro-chemical ingredients that are used as the primary cleanser in other personal care products (but never in ours!). SLS can cause irritation to the skin and mucus membranes and Sodium Laureth Sulfate could cause exposure to potentially dangerous chemicals like 1,4-dioxane due to the manufacturing process.
You claim Live Clean® products are SLS free, however you have Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate on your ingredient list.expand faq
Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is not SLS. In the Health & Beauty Care/Cosmetic industry, SLS refers to a specific type of surfactant known as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or its derivative Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). SLS has been used for decades and is still used in other mass-market shampoos because it's a cheap and powerful degreaser, but it can be harsh on the scalp. Live Clean® products do not contain SLS. Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is not referred to as SLS in the cosmetic industry and has a completely different profile in terms of performance and mildness.
